Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have announced that they will end online support for Marvel’s Avengers, an action game whose main characters are “Earth’s Mightiest Heroes”. According to plublisher and the studio responsible for the game, the date set for the end of update and improvement services is September 30, 2023.
Released in 2021, Marvel’s Avengers was surrounded by anticipation, as it arrived at a time when the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise had just won its most important chapter with Avengers: Endgame, leaving the fertile ground for a franchise game to be released.
However, with repetitive mechanics, weak history and poor online service in the beginning, Marvel’s Avengers it was poorly received by fans and critics, and a project that previously seemed to be long-lasting, gained airs of passenger. Now, behold, the game has had the end of its online support announced.
The last update for the game is scheduled for March 31st.

After two and a half years and featuring 12 of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, after Update 2.8 on March 31, 2023, we will no longer be adding new content or features to Marvel’s Avengers. All official support for the game will end on September 30, 2023.
Even after official support ends on September 30, 2023, single and multiplayer gameplay will continue to be available…
…As a show of our appreciation for our community, starting March 31, 2023, we will be making all cosmetic content on the marketplace available for free to all players who already own the game.
Offering the Marketplace’s full library of cosmetic content is a way of saying thank you to our community, allowing everyone to experience the breadth and depth of Marvel’s Avengers content.
We know this is disappointing news as everyone in our community has a connection to these characters and their stories. We are so, so grateful that you came on this adventure with us. Their excitement for Marvel’s Avengers—from their epic Photo Mode photos, to their conversations theorizing who our next heroes might be, to their Twitch streams—played a big part in bringing this game to life.
