Mass shooting in Seattle leaves five youths injured, two seriously

A mass shooting left five people injured, two critically, near an event in Seattle on Friday night.

So far the reason is unknown and if the authorities captured the suspect(s) in the shooting.

All the gunshot victims are 20 years old, four men and one woman, police said. Their identities have not been released.

“We know that dozens and dozens of rounds were fired,” Seattle Police Department Chief Adrian Diaz said at a news conference.

“We have five victims. Two are in critical condition. Three appear to be stable,” she added.

Diaz said the shooter “focused his efforts on an area where a community event was actually taking place” in the south of the city.

“The gun violence problems that we have in our city, we’ve seen them go up and sometimes go down, but right now we really have to get guns off our streets,” Díaz warned.
