In addition to the incentive, senior TANF participants will have, as of September 1, an increase in their monthly benefit, raising it to $100.

“In my Administration we continue to work hard for the well-being of our elderly, particularly the population that lives below poverty levels. It has been more than 15 years since senior categories on TANF received an increase in their monthly benefit level. This TANF incentive joins other benefits with which we continue to do justice to the elderly on our Island. An example is the Senior Tax Return for which the Department of the Treasury has already disbursed $79.6 million in credits corresponding to 163 thousand processed tax returns ”, affirmed the governor Pedro Pierluisi.

The incentive is granted automatically through the Unica Card and is reflected in the accounts, starting at 12:00 am on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, while the monthly increase, which raises the benefit to $100, begins the first week of September.
