A large group of taxi drivers and beachgoers from Rosario mobilized to protest the crime of Mauro Villamil, the young man shot to death this Wednesday around 7:30 p.m. in a greengrocer’s located on the corner of Corrientes and Gutiérrez, in the Tiro Suizo neighborhood, who worked as a beach man at the service station on February 27 and Corrientes and who also drove a taxi.

From 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the drivers and merchants joined in an energetic and emotional claim. A caravan of taxis went to the wake room.

During the demonstration there was a total blockade of streets and a large concentration of vehicles and people demanding the murder of Mauro Villamil. There was also a moment to make a minute of silence in memory of him.

At 8:15 p.m. from the service station, a caravan of taxis left for the wake room where the last goodbye to the 36-year-old riddled with bullets was taking place.

In front of the Shell where Mauro worked, his colleagues and friends painted a red star in his tribute.

The homicide was registered this Wednesday at dusk in Gutiérrez and Corrientes. According to the investigation, Mauro had just made purchases at the “La Vieja Esquina” grocery store and as soon as he left he was hit by shots fired by a man who walked past two accomplices.

Villamil fell dead on the sidewalk, while three greengrocer’s employees, ages 21, 34 and 50, were hit by bullets and taken by the SIES to different hospitals.
