MAURA Higgins sought medical help after experiencing a painful rash on her face.
The Love Island star, 32, said she has been suffering from perioral dermatitis for a year now.

The condition is a skin disorder that presents as a rash around the mouth and can cause persistent redness, small bumps, flaking, and itching.
Maura shared snaps of raw red skin and told fans she would be visiting a dermatologist in February.
“Unfortunately I have been suffering with my skin for the past two weeks,” the Irish star told fans.
“Acne has been happening for a full year now (only on my chin area) which makes me think it’s hormonal.
“However, I see an excellent dermatologist in February about this.
“During this crazy push I started getting a very red bumpy rash around my mouth.”
Maura asked her fans for help and was surprised by the number of followers who are also suffering from the disease.
She continued, “After a few days of research I found something called perioral dermatitis and after seeing my doctor he confirmed it!
“He prescribed me an oral antibiotic and a cream, but I chose not to take an oral antibiotic because as we all know it only ruins your gut health, so I’ve tried tons different creams.
“I can’t believe how common it is and how I’ve never heard of it before, but if anyone else has it and wants to know what I’m using, please let me know. let me know as I would be happy to share it.”
After trying prescribed treatments, Maura switched to over-the-counter products, fearing that the recommended medications would make her skin drier.
She added: “So my doctor prescribed me metronidazole and I used it for a day (twice a day), I woke up and my skin was very dry and scaly.
“I stopped using it immediately and am now trying this La Roche-Posay. I have already noticed a difference especially with the dryness so I will continue this to see how my skin reacts.
“I just can’t believe how many of you have perioral dermatitis.”
The star shared another close-up photo of her irritated face and joked, “I have what looks like diaper rash on my face.”
Yesterday, Maura left fans in a state of excitement as she paraded her washboard belly at the gym, revealing her impressive six-pack.
The former reality TV contestant, who finished fourth on the dating show in 2019, was quick to show up when she showed off her toned abs.
Dressed in a black two-piece, the reality TV personality paired her look with a matching baseball cap.
Asked by a fan about her enviable fitness regimen on Instagram, she replied, “For me, the workouts vary depending on how I feel that day. I mix between bodybuilding, yoga & Pilates.
