According to media reports from England, Naby Keïta’s time at Liverpool FC will end after the current season. According to information from the ‘Football Insider’ portal, the Reds have broken off contract negotiations with the midfielder because an agreement could not be reached.
Keïta’s contract at Anfield Road expires in the summer, after which the 27-year-old will leave the club on a free transfer. But Jürgen Klopp wants to avoid leaving in the winter transfer window. The Liverpool coach is convinced of Keïta’s qualities and fears a shortage of personnel in midfield.
The Guinean national player came to the Reds in the summer of 2018 for 60 million euros from RB Leipzig. Keïta missed most of the current season due to a hamstring injury, most recently he was back on the pitch regularly as a substitute.
