Central defender Chris Smalling is likely to extend his expiring contract with AS Roma shortly. As the ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’ reports, those responsible for Roma have agreed on a two-year contract with Smalling’s advisor, only the signature is still missing. The Englishman’s salary should be 3.5 million euros net per season over the next two years and can be increased with bonuses.

The 33-year-old is already signing the third working paper for the Giallorossi. Smalling first came on loan from Manchester United in 2019, followed a year later by a permanent commitment for 15 million euros. In the current season, the 1.94 meter tall defender is an absolute regular with the Romans and has made 39 appearances in all competitions.
