Franck Kessié does not play an important role at FC Barcelona. The industrious midfielder was unable to assert himself under Xavi Hernández and has been content with the role of backup player since his free transfer from AC Milan to the Catalans. A situation with which the Ivorian apparently cannot get used to in the long run.
According to ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’ there seems to be a way out for Kessié. The Italian daily reports that Inter Milan are preparing an offer for the 26-year-old. While there were reports of a possible swap deal with Inter’s Marcelo Brozovic at the end of the winter transfer period, the Nerazzurri’s recent attempts seem completely detached from the Croatian’s future.
The fate of Kessié could be closely linked to that of Sergio Busquets. The 34-year-old continues to block Kessié’s path into the Blaugrana first XI. However, Busquet’s contract expires in the summer. Al Nassr made advances for the 143-time Spanish international. Should the club legend leave Camp Nou, Kessié’s desire for a transfer could also vanish into thin air.
