During the winter, a schism arose where at least one of the other Social Democratic municipal councilors believes that it was far too drastic a decision to close ABF’s leisure facilities. The lid is on from the social democratic leadership in Botkyrka, but the question of Östlin’s being or not being will be decided at a members’ meeting held at lunchtime on Saturday.

During Friday, SVT searched for the social democratic municipal councilors and in a written comment Ebba Östlin writes:

“You are welcome to test my trust. Being KSO in Botkyrka means that you have to make tough decisions in order to push out criminality. I will continue to do that regardless of who it is”.

History of political conflicts

The Social Democrats were given a continued mandate to govern Botkyrka municipality after the election last autumn. Ebba Östlin also received continued trust as group leader and chairman of the municipal board, a role she has held since 2015.

Botkyrka municipality already has a history of political conflicts. In 2014 it was about the moderates there ten party members was expelled after years of strife within the party.

ABF has itself criticized the municipality’s handling and, among other things, reported it to the police for misconduct
