A 59-year-old from Upper Franconia was driving his car on the A73 in the direction of Nuremberg on Saturday (April 8, 2023), reports the Erlangen Traffic Police Inspectorate. According to his information, he was driving at a speed of around 95 kilometers per hour at the permitted speed of 80 kilometers per hour in the overtaking lane at Fürth.

A small car approached from behind and the driver repeatedly flashed the headlights. But that was only the beginning.

Ultimately, he overtook on the right and cut the driver into the lane. Then he continued in the slalom and slowed down to 50 kilometers per hour. The driver went to the 59-year-old’s vehicle, tore open the driver’s door, grabbed the turn signal lever and broke it off. Afterwards they both continued their journey. The damage to the victim’s vehicle is around 1000 euros.
The rampaging driver was a 19-year-old. The passenger was a 32-year-old. According to the police, both live in Erlangen. An investigation into coercion, damage to property and various traffic violations was initiated.
