A man with a mental illness beat a woman this Tuesday in a Havana neighborhood, according to information shared on social networks.
The event occurred this Tuesday afternoon when the man violently assaulted a woman identified as Ana, at the corner of the CUPET on 146th street in the whereabouts of the Playa municipality, according to what was expressed by the netizen Yamila Arias Benitez Yamy, friend of the victim.
In her testimony, she recounted that the woman was driving her car when the man, screaming, rushed against the car, introducing one of his hands through the window and breaking her face.
“Unfortunately Anita ended up with a 7-point suture in one of her eyebrows, but this event could have ended much worse if she had lost consciousness and obviously unable to maneuver her car… God knows what would have happened,” he wrote.
“This individual with a certain level of mental incapacity is violent and very aggressive, he usually walks around the Paradero de Playa, so I suggest that everyone who travels through this site take it into account,” he warned.
Apparently it is not the first time that the man assaulted someone, according to complaints from the neighbors.
“I really do not understand why, both his family and the authorities have not taken the appropriate measures to avoid events like this. Unless they are waiting for a more regrettable and serious event to occur,” he said.
With some frequency, Cubans have alerted individuals with mental illnesses and potentially violent.
In June, citizens expressed their concern on social networks about a psychiatric patient who roamed the streets of Havana and is aggressive.
The man, identified as Yoel, was in the vicinity of zone 8 of Alamar, in the Habana del Este municipality, and had attacked several people.
A woman who had an unfortunate encounter with the man explained that he had previously injured several people and although he was hospitalized, he had already left the hospital.
