We have known for several weeks that Paris Saint-Germain has planned a very calm winter transfer window. But after the departure of Pablo Sarabia for Wolverhampton, the club of the capital must adapt with the will to strengthen on the offensive plan.
With a limited budget due to UEFA’s financial fair play, the reigning French champion finds himself looking for the rare pearl.
A winger with definite characteristics
And according to information from the daily L’Equipe on Tuesday, the Parisian leaders want to strengthen themselves with a very specific profile at the head: a winger able to swing to the right side and step inside on the left foot. At the same time, the player in question must be affordable financially but also accept a role as a substitute behind the three stars Kylian Mbapp, Lionel Messi and Neymar.
This description therefore puts an end to the trail leading the Borussia Mnchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram (25 years old, 15 games and 10 goals in the Bundesliga this season), at the end of the contract next June and yet appreciated by the Ile-de-France sports adviser Luis Campos. And for the moment, it is therefore the only priority of PSG over this period of transfers.
And the Skriniar file?
However, in recent days, a name has caused a lot of talk: Milan Skriniar. At the end of the contract next June, the central defender has ruled out, for the moment, the possibility of extending Inter Milan. Announced with insistence at PSG, the Slovak should not join the current leader of Ligue 1 this winter, according to L’Equipe. With the available envelope, estimated between 10 and 15 million euros, Paris cannot satisfy Inter, who are asking for between 20 and 25 million euros. Faced with this situation, Paris should calmly wait until the end of the season to sign the ex-rock of Sampdoria de Gnes as a free player and therefore remains focused on the search for a winger.
