by Andrea Piva / Ivana Crocifisso – Yet another twist in the negotiation for Ivan Ilic: his move to Olympique Marseille seemed to have been completed but, this afternoon, the negotiation between Verona and the French club came to a sudden halt. The reason? Ivan Ilic has expressly said that he wants to accept Torino’s offer and go back to work with Ivan Juric. The midfielder’s yes to the grenade offer displaced the French, who were convinced that they now had the player in hand and could finalize the purchase in a short time (at the latest tomorrow).

Torino, on the other hand, is now not only fully back in the running for the midfielder but has now once again overtaken Olympique Marseille. Since the French club made its move by presenting an offer to Verona for the player, director Davide Vagnati has intensified contacts even further with the colleges of the Veneto club and with Ilic’s entourage to try to overturn the situation. Mission partially accomplished. Now the economic agreement with Verona must be defined, but what matters is that Turin has received an important first yes, waiting to understand if there will be any counter-moves from Marseille.
