The guest list includes celebrities from fashion, film, television, theater, music, business, sports, social media and politics. However, names will not be published in advance – apart from the co-hosts mentioned above.
What is known, however, is that Lagerfeld’s cat Choupette has been invited. Whether the animal actually walks the red carpet at the Met remains to be seen. Reality TV star Kim Kardashian was also apparently happy about an invitation, despite reports to the contrary.
She recently posted several photos with the cat on Instagram and wrote, “Did on a date with Choupette in Paris. We spent some time in Karl Lagerfeld’s office to get some inspiration for the Met Gala.”
The current cover of the US American “Vogue” suggests other invited guests. The magazine is dedicated to Karl Lagerfeld and features ten models on the cover that he most enjoyed working with: Anok Yai, Shalom Harlow, Kendall Jenner, Liu Wen, Adut Akech, Natalia Vodianova, Naomi Campbell, Amber Valletta, Gigi Hadid and Devon Aoki . They will most likely walk the red carpet in New York on Monday night.
