Some of the weekly tasks that the Farmen kendis contestants are assigned can sometimes include performing something for an audience.

In the one-week assignment from week four of this year’s season, the participants were assigned to set up a festival. It was to include both singing and dancing.

Christopher Mørch Husby (33) and Sofie Karlstad (25) say that this was something they did not think was fun.

– Christopher and I wanted to dig ourselves in, says Karlstad.

For Husby, it also took an unexpected turn, when two of his family members appeared in the audience.

Would rather do it in a nursing home

Karlstad and Husby both agree that the festival was one of the worst parts of the whole Farmen celebrity stay.

– What the viewers don’t get is that we had to do both the dance and the song twice. We also had to be equally enthusiastic both times, says Karlstad.

Karlstad explains that it would have been easier with professional extras, but thinks it was embarrassing to do it in front of people his own age.

– When they take in people who are like that, 20, 25 or 30 years old, who may know who you are from before…

– We would much rather do it in an old people’s home, adds Husby.

Husby and Karlstad explain that not all participants shared their dissatisfaction with the dancing and singing, and refer to Ørnulf Høyer (66) and Marit Andreassen (54).

– Without mentioning names … Ørnulf and Marit, says Husby and laughs, before he continues:

– They thought this was fat. So they sang and stomped extra hard, and I just thought “this hurts so much”. Then I just became smaller.

Extras were family members

Although both participants think that the dancing and singing were bad enough in themselves, the performance also took an unexpected and familial turn for Husby.

The 33-year-old explains that when the production found extras for the audience, they had gone to a hotel not far from the farm.

– And someone in my family works at that hotel. So they were then asked to come and be extras, Husby begins.

– Then suddenly two of my family members are standing in front of me, and are going to watch us do the “shoe clap dance”. I wanted to throw myself off the plateau we were standing on, he continues.

The 33-year-old says that it was not close to the family, but two of his male triplets.

– So that was the small relationship, and there I stood. It was just so damn embarrassing! he says, laughing.

You can see Farmen kendis on Tuesdays at 21:40, and Wednesdays and Sundays at 20:00 on TV 2 Direkte, and when you want on TV 2 Play.
