A man, allegedly related to the fire that occurred last Thursday at the Central de Abasto in the Iztapalapa Mayor’s Office, was arrested by elements of the Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC).

It is presumed that the man caused the fire due to a dispute with his relatives over ownership of the winery, according to preliminary data from the SSC.

“Prior to the start of the fire, he placed a ladder on one of the fences on one side of the building, entered and after a few minutes, the fire started, at the same time that the person was observed outside the warehouse,” reported the SSC.

This conduct, which occurred in the vicinity of the property where the ignition occurred, was seen through the analysis of the video surveillance cameras of the CEDA Command and Control Center (C2) and the Command, Control, Computing, Communications and Contact Citizen (C5) of Mexico City.

After identifying the physical and clothing characteristics of the probable perpetrator, they increased patrols, tours, and fixed and mobile surveillance in the area.

It was on Frutas y legumes street and its intersection with Subastas y Productores street where he was found and detained by SSC police officers.

This is a 36-year-old man identified as Marco Antonio, who wore the same clothes and red cap that was seen in the videos analyzed, for which reason the police detained him after informing him of his legal rights and made him available to the police. agent of the Public Ministry.
