The communist deputy from the North believes that the left “can and must” debate the method and substance of the New Popular Ecologist and Social Union.
Family reunions are sometimes complicated, especially when tensions between the different members spoil a birthday. It was in a tense atmosphere that the tenors of Nupes met this Tuesday evening in Paris, a year after the formation of the alliance on the left, to discuss the first outlines of an “act II.”
If the unity of communists, socialists, environmentalists and rebellious remains real on the fight against pension reform, “frank and sincere exchanges” took place on the next electoral deadlines.
“It got into a fight. It was hot,” says a rebellious participant.
In particular on the European elections, which arrive in June 2024. EELV and the PCF refuse for the moment the common list proposed by LFI, while the Socialists are open to the idea.

With BFMTV, the boss of the communists responds and deplores “balance methods” of some who “distort” his words.
“We must keep what works: we managed to win 150 deputies. We must win 150 more. And work on what is wrong and which could represent a ball or a straightjacket in the future”, explains the deputy North.
“We have substantive debates on subjects that we must succeed in working on: the meaning of work, like energy, on Europe”, he pleads.
“You have to see bigger than the four forces of Nupes”, insists the communist, who wants to “expand” to “win”.
“There are people who are not members of the Nupes who are opposed to this pension reform”, advances in particular Fabien Roussel who believes that the left “can and must” debate the method and the substance.
