At 11:00 o’clock the trains are in circulation They will stop their march for three minutes.in accordance with the action protocol of the Transportation area and the staff will proceed to review the facilities.
The Metro recalled that there are action protocols established for earthquake cases, which must be abided by by the citizens who are traveling at that time.
The actions to be followed by users in the event of an earthquake are:
– Keep calm; avoid running, yelling or pushing.
– In case of being on board the train, you must stay on board of it, do not try to get out of the wagon.
– Users who are on the platform must retreat to the walls.
– If indicated by the Metro staff, follow the evacuation route.
– Do not cross the yellow line.
– Do not invade the tracks or tunnels of the seasons.
The SCT recalled that the “network facilities are lower risk areaswhich is why it is important that those who use them keep in mind what to do if an earthquake occurs.”
The drill will have a hypothesis an earthquake of magnitude 7.5 with epicenter in Puebla – Veracruz30 km southwest of Tierra Blanca, Veracruz.
The government of Mexico City indicated that locally there will be four scenarios where emergency bodies will carry out reaction exercises for disaster care.
On April 17, the head of the capital’s government, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, recalled that the objective of the drill is to reinforce and improve the preventive, communication and response actions of local authorities in the event of an earthquake, as well as to evaluate the operation of the Seismic Emergency Plan.
“The alarms will sound, the Seismic Alert like any other, if there was an earthquake in reality. (…) It is a drill so that you already know what to do, especially if you are on a floor close to the ground floor, so that you can go down; and if not, what do you know put in a safe place. This drill is for schools, for public spaces and, of course, also for homes; it’s a National drill, not only in the city. So please help us report it. As always, the objective of the drills is to prepare us,” said the president.
He added that the capital authorities will focus on the Center for Command, Control, Computing, Communications and Citizen Contact (C5) to coordinate with the staff of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) of the Government of Mexico.
He asserted that each secretary was assigned a mayor’s office and that all of them must set up their Emergency and Civil Protection Committee to review all the factors and have all the information at hand; the performance will be the same before a real stage.
