Although the rumors have been plentiful in recent years, many of us Metroid fans have given up hoping we’d see a remake of the series’ classic Prime debut by now. During last night’s Nintendo Direct, however, this pessimism would be shattered when Metroid Prime Remastered was announced. Just as it sounds, it’s a polished edition of the classic Gamecube masterpiece, and with updated graphics, Samus Aran and Tallon IV look better than ever while seeming to retain much of the feel and mystery of the original. As if this wasn’t enough good news, Nintendo announced in the same vein that this new edition will be launched for the Nintendo Switch later in the day (probably during the night or early morning), thus a so-called “Shadow Drop” where you advertise and launch in same crank. So cancel any plans you have tomorrow and get ready to revisit one of Nintendo’s, Gamecube era and world’s best action adventures of all time. At least that’s what we’re going to do.

Note that the digital version of the game is released today, but the physical edition will not launch until February 22nd, just so you know.
