Pittsburgh.- Mexican kicker Alfredo Gachúz lived his first day at the Pittsburgh Steelers rookie camp.

The 26-year-old received an invite from the Steelers after being scouted last April.

Gachúz belongs to the Raptors team of the Mexican Professional American Football League, however, he was observed in a kicker clinic that the Steelers organized in Mexico City.

The young kicker stunned the Steelers scouts with a 58-yard field goal, which caught the attention of the organization and made the invitation official, through Omar Khan, general manager of the Steelers.

The rookie camp takes place starting this Friday in Pittsburgh and will run until next Sunday, May 14.

The clinic was led by Raúl Alegre, a two-time Super Bowl winner with the New York Giants, as well as Shaun Suisham, a former kicker for the Steelers.

Gachúz has had experience as a player for Borregos Campus Estado de México and was recently selected with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League.
