The stock markets of Mexico they rallied sharply on Friday, in line with their US peers. Local stock indices advanced for the third consecutive day, reaching their highest closing levels since mid-April.

The leading index S&P/BMV CPI of the Mexican stock exchange (BMV), made up of the 35 most liquid shares in Mexico, moved 1.06% to 53,947.04 points. The FTSE BIVAof the Institutional Stock Market (Biva), advanced 0.97% to 1,125.67 points.

Within the reference index, most of the indices closed the day in the green: 29 values ​​rose and six fell. The best behaviors were held by the titles of Kimberly-Clark de México, with 3.58%, and GAP, which rose 2.94 percent.

Kimberly-Clark shares led the advance after presenting positive figures for the fourth quarter of 2022 the day before. Revenues had a solid increase and the advance in EBITDA was higher than estimated”, explained Intercam Banco.

During the week, the S&P/BMV IPC index accumulated a gain of 0.69% from 53,576.72 units last Friday, in its third positive week in a row. Against its 48,463.86 units in December, in the year it has an advance of 10.55 percent.
