The stock markets of Mexico they rose moderately this Thursday. The local indices advanced, contrary to their US peers, in a market that was waiting for the fourth quarter reports of two large companies in the market.

The referential index S&P/BMV CPI of the Mexican stock exchange (BMV), which groups the 35 most liquid shares in the domestic market, gained 0.31% to 53,382.65 units. The FTSE BIVAof the Institutional Stock Market (Biva), rose 0.32% to 1,115.07 units.

Within the reference index, most of the components ended the day with gains, with 22 stocks in the green and 13 in the red. Volaris titles led the advances, gaining 3.61%, followed by Liverpool titles, which rose 1.94 percent.

Investors awaited the quarterly results of Banorte and Kimberly-Clark, after a report from Fibra Prologis was in line with expectations. Banorte’s titles closed with an advance of 0.67%, while those of Kimberly-Clark fell 0.34 percent.

The local stock market has so far in 2023 one of the best performances among the main markets in the world. From a close of 48,463.86 units in operations on December 30, the reference index accumulates a gain of 10.15 percent.
