Mexico City.- Irma Miranda, from Mexico, failed to win the Miss Universe 2022 crown.

Miranda, 26, did not advance to the next round, where they chose the 16 finalists, who will continue in the pageant for the title of beauty queen.

In the following phases of the contest, the representatives of Puerto Rico, Haiti, Australia, the Dominican Republic, Laos, South Africa, Portugal, Canada, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, Curaçao, India, Venezuela, Spain, the United States and Colombia will face each other.

The 71st edition of Miss Universe took place in New Orleans, United States.

Originally from Sonora, Irma Cristina Miranda Valenzuela studied for a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration; however, she is a woman who is passionate about modeling and beauty pageants.

Throughout her career she has also worked as a television presenter, where she has worked for companies such as Imagen and Televisa.

Likewise, it is part of the Commune Civil Organization, with the projects “Punto Migrante” and “En Cajeme”, whose purpose is to support women and minors in an illegal situation.

In 2022, she triumphed as Universal Mexican receiving the crown from the outgoing queen Débora Hallal.

Mexico has three Miss Universe queens: Andrea Meza (2020), Ximena Navarrete (2010) and Lupita Jones (1991).
