Mi Band 8 just got a release date. The information was reported by site AndroidAuthoritywhere it is said that according to official poster on Xiaomi’s Chinese website, the new pill-shaped smartband will be released alongside the Xiaomi 13 Ultra smartphone on April 18th. Among the details for the new version of the wearable, we have the bracelet’s fitting format, which is now divided into two parts.

After the launch in China, the Mi Band 8 can already be found in several online stores for sale. However, if you want to wait for the “global version” of the smartband, you’ll have to wait a few days longer. It is not yet known whether the international version will finally gain NFC with Google Pay support or not, but there is hope that this will still happen.

As mentioned above, the only significant change in the new Mi Band 8 was in its bracelet, which is now divided into two parts that connect on the sides of the smartband. Unfortunately, the most basic model should not offer integrated GPS, requiring a smartphone to use this feature, but the Pro version of the Mi Band 8 will have integrated GPS, as well as the Mi Band 7 Pro.
