Miami-Dade places three schools among the top 100 in the country

MIAMI.- Three schools from the Miami-Dade school district are included in the annual list of the 100 best schools in the country, and 16 are among the best in Florida, according to the annual report by US News & World Report.

Among the 17,660 centers ranked nationally, the Top 100 included the Marine Academy of Science & Technology Florida International University (MAST@FIU) in Virginia Key, which ranked 61st; José Martí MAST 6-12 from Hialeah, in 63rd place, while Design & Architecture Senior High School (DASH) located in Miami’s Design District took 73rd place.

US News & World Report analyzes nearly 25,000 high schools nationwide, including traditional, magnet and charter schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

The leading magazine specialized in politics, economics, health and education evaluated six fundamental educational aspects, such as the Advanced Placement (AP) and the International Baccalaureate (IB) tests, academic performance, math and reading proficiency, as well as graduation rate and achievement gap.

Furthermore, 16 M-DCPS schools ranked among the top 100 in Florida.
