IT administrators who manage Windows computers will be able to receive an email letting them know when new known operating system or Microsoft 365 are detected. The announcement was made on Microsoft’s TechCommunity forumwhere the company’s senior program manager, Mabel Gomes, explains about the new feature.
Outages in Microsoft 365 will be notified via email
After signing up for the new service offered by Microsoft, administrators of Windows PCs will receive emails whenever known issues arise or an update occurs with new information regarding an error, such as changing the status of a bug or temporary solutions.
While this early warning system for issues in Windows is good news, Microsoft says the feature will be exclusive to business admins with qualifying Windows or Microsoft 365 for Business subscriptions. Mabel Gomes, Senior Program Manager at Microsoft says:
First, log in to the Microsoft 365 admin center and find Windows Release Health under the Health menu.
If you don’t see this option or don’t have access to the admin center, contact your organization’s global admin and request access and an admin role in the tenant.
To access the new resource for receiving informative emails about known problems in Windows, as well as tips for temporarily resolving bugs, among other data, Microsoft says that it is necessary to have one of the following subscriptions:
- Microsoft 365 Enterprise E3/A3/F3
- Microsoft 365 Enterprise E5/A5
- Windows 10 Enterprise E3/A3
- Windows 10 Enterprise E5/A5
- Windows 11 Enterprise E3/A3
- Windows 11 Empresa E5/A5
