Microsoft Edge actually got off to a very exciting start as a browser, but has now increasingly had to put up with the accusation that there is too much “fuss” in it, which also leads to a lack of clarity.

A new look is currently being tested, but it will be some time before it is distributed to all users. Version 110 of Microsoft Edge has been released for the general public.

Microsoft closes vulnerabilities with the update, but also has new functions and improvements on board.

Version 110.0.1587.41 of Microsoft Edge gets a drop feature. Microsoft Edge thus offers an easy way to send files and notes across all mobile and desktop devices you have registered.

In the desktop version of Microsoft Edge, Drop can be managed from the sidebar (edge://settings/sidebar). Admins can control the availability of Drop through the EdgeEDropEnabled policy.

Notes or files end up in all your Edge installations, you also get push notifications about your own drops.

The function works via your OneDrive, which means that the files are counted towards your storage space. They’re also located online in a Microsoft Edge Drop Files folder in case you want to tidy up.

There are also new guidelines for Immersive Reader. Immersive Reader in Microsoft Edge simplifies webpage layout, eliminates clutter, and helps users customize their reading experience.

These new policies (ImmersiveReaderGrammarToolsEnabled and ImmersiveReaderPictureDictionaryEnabled) allow administrators to control the availability of the grammar tools and picture dictionary features in Immersive Reader.
