In recent months, Microsoft has introduced artificial intelligence features on all the applications and services it can offer, in particular on Office applications and on its Bing search engine. The latest addition? A panel for creating images in Microsoft Edge.

Microsoft Edge has become the first web browser to feature a built-in AI image generator, allowing its users to create never-before-seen images, powered by OpenAI’s latest DALL∙E model.

This feature, called “Image Creator”, is now available on desktop computers for Microsoft Edge users worldwide. They can thus, without leaving the browser, find precise illustrations for their content on social networks, their presentations or other objectives.

Microsoft launched “Bing Image Creator” last month, which uses a modified version of DALL-E 2 technology to generate artificial intelligence images from text queries. Now, this tool has a dedicated place on the Microsoft Edge browser sidebar.

To use the “Image Creator” tool, users need to go to the sidebar on the right side of the browser, tap on the “Image Creator” icon, enter a query, and choose from four different image options. The images can then be imported or downloaded to any platform.

Microsoft integrates various tools into Edge

The implementation of “Bing Image Creator” in Edge also represents an opportunity for Microsoft to recall the arrival of other very practical tools on its browser. Notably its ChatGPT-based assistant, “Bing AI”, and “Drop”, a feature that makes it very easy to transfer files between all your devices, directly through Edge.

The American firm had also introduced the “Efficiency” mode, a function that optimizes browser performance and energy consumption by limiting background activities and suspending inactive tabs.
