The circulation of counterfeit money has a real economic impact in addition to being totally prohibited by law. The authorities take care to regulate this and fight this scourge through several hard-fought operations.
This time it is in the wilaya of Mila, more precisely in Tadjenanet on the police force succeeded in dismantling an organization which had put a sum of money in fact national currency in circulation.
A successful entry
The elements of the Judicial Police brigades belonging to the security of Daira fe Tadjenanet, managed to get their hands on a large sum of money which is equivalent to 434,000 dinars.
As part of this operation, several people were arrested. The authorities therefore arrested five (05) people, more precisely four men and one woman, all aged between 26 and 40 years old.
Finally, the suspects were presented before the prosecution of the Chelghoum Laid court to answer for their actions.
A well-conducted investigation
It all started when a complaint was filed by an individual who noticed suspicious activity. According to the Algeria Press Service, the complaint related to a sum of money he had received during a commercial exchange.
The police therefore investigated and succeeded in identifying and then arresting three people.
They had 2000 bills in their wallet which were identified as counterfeit.
This is where a search of homes was organized. From then on the wife of one of the individuals was arrested. She set fire to a sum of money in counterfeit bank money. She explained that she had been “informed by one of the accomplices who was in the scrap metal store”. He was also arrested in possession of 1,000 dinar notes.
