Unveiled last summer, the 1.20 update is highly anticipated by Minecraft players. If many novelties to come have already been unveiled, we learn today that it will introduce a new biome and a new mob.
Discover the new biome

This beautiful biome is filled with cherry blossom trees that bring a unique look to the horizon as their crowns are tall and flat, like fluffy pink clouds. It’s no wonder three adorable monsters, the Pigs, Sheep, and Bees, are drawn to them and spawn in this biome.
Note also that the cherry tree can be broken down into a complete set of wood, but also crafted.
The sniffer arrives
In addition to this new biome, update 1.20 also introduces a new mob. This is the sniffer, a until now extinct creature that you can choose to help prosper.
The Sniffer is the winner of the vote that took place during Minecraft Live 2022. To bring him back to life, you will need to find his eggs and help them hatch. It will also help you find seeds that you can plant to fill your game with new unique decorative plants.
Sniffer eggs are found in suspicious sand, which also contains other objects like potsherds. Once you’ve found your egg, it’s time to help it hatch! I implore you to be very careful with this part of the process, because you haven’t lived until you’ve seen a sniffer come out of its shell.
Finally, note that archeology is also arriving and you can in particular look for suspicious blocks of sand near the temples of the desert to reveal hidden objects using the brush.
All these new features will land for everyone when 1.20 is released. For the moment, no release date has yet been communicated.
