The prime minister held a meeting with members of the Board of Directors of Congress to ensure the advancement of the electoral contest, for which he indicated that they are “satisfied” with the schedule established by Parliament.

As recalled, the Head of State pointed out that, since the violence and roadblocks do not stop despite having presented a project to call the polls for 2023, it would be considerable to bring it forward for this year.
“From the Executive we had proposed that these elections be brought forward until April 2024, a project that was voted on once in Congress and the second vote is awaiting. However, the protests continue: there are more blockades and violence. And yes, we discussed it with the Minister of Justice and with the Prime Minister, and we put this bill for the consideration of the ministers to bring it forward to December 2023. However, if these go without political reforms and others, perhaps The months can be agreed upon a little more,” reported Boluarte.
