The 2023 season has just over two months of action left and for that reason MLB published the average ticket price to watch Major League games, with Yankee Stadium ranking high on the list.
The Los Angeles Dodgers occupy the first place on the list, where the average cost of the ticket per person is $209 dollars. Which makes the Los Angeles team the most expensive team to go see in the MLB.
Then the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox follow. With 1$86 and $170 dollars respectively.
Yankee Stadium is one of the newest sports venues, which has numerous luxuries for the comfort of all its fans. and it is no surprise that its cost of entry is so high.
While Fenway Park is one of the oldest and despite that, the Red Sox organization has been in charge of making it as attractive as possible for the enjoyment of the fan.
The home of the Chicago Cubs, Wrigley Field ranks fifth with an average cost of $141, followed by Oracle Park of the San Francisco Giants with a price of $144.
In tenth place came the Baltimore Orioles’ Camden Yards for $123, followed by the Houston Astros’ Minute Maid Park ($131), the Texas Rangers’ Globe Life Field ($131), the San Diego Padres’ PetCo Park ($140) and the Busch Stadium of the San Luis Cardinals ($140).
Citi Field, home of the New York Mets, did not make the top ten on the published list. by Major League Baseball.
MLB with record attendance in July
The last week of July saw huge attendance at Major League Baseball stadiums, the largest year-over-year increase in American baseball in the past 25 years.
During said week, an average of 34,432 fans attended.the highest in a week (Monday to Sunday) from the week of June 11 to 17, 2012.
As if that weren’t enough, Saturday’s 15 games drew 582,872, an average of 38,858, the best attendance for that day since August 10, 2013. Overall, MLB attendance in 2023 has improved by 9.2% with relative to 2022, the largest year-over-year increase since 1998.
In 2023 MLB has received 45,847,643 fans, for an average of 28,889 per game, the best since 2017when attendance averaged 29,908 per game and totaled 72.6 million.
