MML manager will investigate ghost workers who did not work during the pandemic

One of the managers of the new management of the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima (MML), Maritza Casaverde announced the start of an investigation to determine the case of employees who did not go to work because of what it determined as a “pseudo-pandemic” of COVID-19.

“We have shown that in many areas there have been hired personnel who did not attend work, who due to the pandemic, pseudopandemic, They have not been verified even by occupational doctors at the moment. I am working on this so that later the mayor has accurate information about it, so ghost people who have not gone to work at the entity”, he specified during his speech at the press conference.

For his part, López Aliaga indicated that he has requested the Comptroller General of the Republic to carry out an immediate intervention in order to review the cases identified by its work team. “There may be more ghost locators. COVID-19 as an argument for a statement not signed by anyone, with the municipality’s letterhead is out of place, ”she pointed out.

Maritza Cazaverde pointed out that between 2018 and 2022, the previous management in charge of the MML generated a increase of S/ 156 million per year in the payroll, by going from S/ 283 million to S/ 439 million in salary payments.

In this sense, the team led by López Aliaga indicated that they will proceed with the staff reduction in the MML to generate annual savings of S/103 million, without specifying the number of workers that would be separated from the municipality.

In response, the management of Miguel Romero Sotelo rejected the accusations and indicated that servers who were infected with COVID-19 and those who belong to the population at risk who had to carry out their activities under the modality of remote work.
