The Vice Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Public Works develop initiatives for a flexible circulation and to reduce transfer times. Currently, these institutions carry out a traffic study on the various highways of the country to update the number of vehicles that circulate through them, in order to take strategic actions, reported the Minister of Public Works, Romeo Rodríguez.

“In the case of Los Próceres boulevard, cables have been placed so that each vehicle that is circulating can be counted, as part of the measurements,” explained.

The official said that the activities that are being carried out are preliminary, as part of the tests requested by the Vice Ministry of Transportation (VMT) to analyze vehicular traffic in the sector of the Las Mercedes and San Francisco neighborhoods, with the purpose of improving circulation in said area and stated that traffic will soon be enabled again in the three lanes of Los Próceres.

“At the moment they are only measurements and tests that we are doing with this update of the transit plan for our roads,” Rodriguez maintained.

The head of Public Works reported that measurements will be made on 7,218 kilometers of highway, which will allow for updated data on the average daily traffic on the highways of the national territory and thus make the best decisions for the benefit of the population.

In addition, he indicated that the vehicle fleet is growing year by year, only in 2022 it increased by 8.45%. Faced with this situation, the official pointed out that they are carrying out studies that allow them to provide a solution to the problem of vehicular traffic and prioritizing the largest number of people who are mobilizing.
