The survey, which was presented during a seminar in Gothenburg at the end of March, shows that support for nuclear power has increased in the last three years.

Of the respondents in the latest SOM survey, 42 percent answer that they want to invest more in Swedish nuclear power. 32 percent want to build more reactors, which can be compared to the year 2020 when only 13 percent answered yes to that question.

However, there are still more people who have a more positive attitude towards solar, water and wind power.

In the seminar “Nuclear power and technology optimism when climate issues change”, researcher and doctor Björn Rönnerstrand presents the Swedes’ attitude towards different energy sources but also their view of the climate and how it has changed from several different perspectives.

Every year, the SOM institute examines Swedes’ perception and attitude towards various current social issues. The institute has done this since 1986.

The video is part of a full-day seminar from the SOM institute at the University of Gothenburg on March 28.
