The two war opponents Ukraine and Russia have once again exchanged more than 200 prisoners. “We are taking back 100 of our people – soldiers, sailors, border guards and national guardsmen,” said the head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Andriy Yermak, today.

Among them are seriously injured. The Russian Defense Ministry had previously announced that 106 people had been taken to Moscow, including for medical treatment.

Since the Russian attack on the neighboring country in February last year, more than 2,000 Ukrainians have returned from Russian captivity. The issue of prisoner exchanges is the only area on which both warring parties are still negotiating. All other talks about a solution to the conflict are on hold.
