Xelajú MC defeated Municipal this Saturday 1-0 in a match for date 5 of the Guatemala tournament – Torneo Clausura 2023. The local scored the only goal of the match 32 minutes into the second half, through Darwin Lom. After taking the ball on the left, the forward finished off the goal from his own half and beat the goalkeeper with a fantastic goal to remember.

The best man of the match was Darwin Lom. The Xelajú MC attacker scored 1 goal.

José Calderón also stood out at the Mario Camposeco stadium. The Xelajú MC goalkeeper showed off.

The match had several cautioned: Javier González, Amarini Villatoro, Jaime Alas, Aarón Navarro and Kenderson Navarro. Eduardo Rotondi was sent off for a direct red card (46′, 1T), Jonathan Franco for a direct red card (39′, 2T) and Manuel Morán for a direct red card (41′, 2T).

For its part, José Cardozo’s team took to the field with a 4-4-2 scheme with Kenderson Navarro under the three sticks; José Morales, Steve Makuka, Milciades Portillo and Eduardo Soto in defense; Marlon Sequén, Jonathan Franco, Yasnier Matos and Jaime Alas in midfield; and Eduardo Rotondi and José Martínez up front.

Referee Mario Noriega Rizo was in charge of supervising the game at the Mario Camposeco stadium.

On the following date Xelajú MC will face Xinabajul as a visitor, while Municipal will play as a visitor against Achuapa.

With this result, the host of the match reaches 12 points and sits at the top of the table. For its part, the visiting team remains at 5 units and is in ninth place in the tournament.
