The Stadtmusik Bludenz is an integral part of the cultural life of the Alpine town.

The first month of the new year is already history. “Finally we were allowed to move out again on the last day of last year and bring our musical greetings to the people of Bludenzer”, cheered the members of the town music on the occasion of the turn of the year. Year in and year out, the Tschanun-Spescha family from the Riedmiller inn and Verena Walch from the Wünderla Worlds of Indulgence rewarded the efforts of the musicians with a fine drink during the New Year’s Eve march. With this, the association thanked for all the support that was bestowed on it in the previous year. Among the enthusiastic listeners of the last performance for 2022 was the patron of the city music, Heidi Comploj, with her husband Georg.

The town music association year offers many highlights. “In addition to traditional marching music, you can also hear modern music from us at various square concerts in downtown Bludenz. We play at morning and dusk pints and are there live at many a music festival,” the brass band informed. The town music frames the church celebrations and is of course also part of the Bludenz New Year’s reception, the Fasnat (with key handover on February 18th and a large Jöri parade on February 19th) and the spark burning on February 26th. Crowd pullers are also the annual park festival in July in Plettenberg Park and the traditional Cecilia concert at the end of November in the town hall. The management of the town music is organized in the board team, which includes chairwoman Doris Tagwerker, Andreas Nuderscher and Ralf Mahner.

Music factory and peasant band

In addition to the town music, there is also the peasant band of the town music Bludenz and the MusikFabrik Bludenz-Bürs. Bernhard Matt is the musical director of the joint youth wind orchestra of the Stadtmusik Bludenz and Harmoniemusik Bürs. He is actively supported in his work by Julia Tschütscher. The dedicated youth workers Lea-Maria Peter and Tamara Wachter from Bludenz and Michaela Münsch from Bürs support the Musikfabrik organizationally. The next time you can experience the “Klangkörper” is next Sunday, February 5th, at the Rungeliner Masquerade Run. The peasant band of the Stadtmusik Bludenz is often referred to and valued as an “ambassador of cozy brass music culture”. It was founded almost 40 years ago on the initiative of honorary president Elmar Dür and some musicians from the town band. “Even back then – long before the enthusiasm for Bohemian music blossomed again – the members of the peasant band wanted to play Bohemian brass music with a lot of heart and drive,” the town music drew attention to. Under the proven musical direction of Werner Spagolla and the zealous leadership of Günter Tschenett, the peasant band is now a popular formation nationwide.
