The month-long search for a boss on Twitter is over. Owner Elon Musk, who currently runs the short message service himself, said in a tweet today that he would make Comcast manager Linda Yaccarino his successor at the helm. She was previously responsible for advertising sales at Comcast’s TV division NBCUniversal. Musk said Yaccarino will primarily take care of business matters on Twitter. He himself wants to remain in the company management as Chief Technology Officer.

Musk acquired Twitter in October 2022 for $44 billion. Because his erratic decisions scared off users and advertisers, he had Twitter users vote on his future at the helm of the company at the end of 2022. At that time, 56.3 percent of the participants were in favor of his departure. Musk then announced his retirement “as soon as I find someone stupid enough to do the job.”
