Mexico City.- When Martha Edith Zimbrón won her reinstatement to the Auxiliary Police, her attacker deprived her of her freedom and forced her to sign her discharge.

The events occurred on November 22, after seven years of struggle and after winning a sentence that ensured his reinstatement to the institution.

“They destroyed my life and they even gave him an award,” he said while going through all the copies of his legal process.

Until 2016, Martha reported sexual harassment by a colleague to Miguel Zaragoza Estrada, her boss and police commander, who changed her sector and began charging her fees to keep her hours and place safe.

At first, the extortion per turn was 350 pesos, which he had to deposit into an account number, but later the amount grew and he had to deliver the money in cash.

Each fortnight consists of between 7 and 8 shifts, but when her superior demanded four shifts per fortnight, this exceeded her ability to pay and she decided to file a complaint, which caused her to be separated from the corporation.

“I was no longer enough for my children’s school, nor for their food, nor for their tickets. Over time I was recording, they did not let me sign my fortnight,” he said.

The complaint for aggravated extortion revealed irregularities in the accounts of Lidia, Zaragoza’s assistant, and her subsequent dismissal.

After continuing with her process, the woman won her reinstatement to Sector 76, in Colonia Guerrero.

On November 22, 2022, upon entering the sector, they took away her cell phone and locked her in a cubicle.

“Miguel Zaragoza Estrada enters and tells me that I know what I did and that I have to voluntarily resign and I told him no, to do what they had to do to me. A young lady approached me and said ‘for your good and from your family, voluntarily leave,'” he said.

However, the withdrawal did not proceed. She started receiving threats from unknown numbers.

On February 17, she was finally restored to the same sector and assigned to a store in Santa María la Ribera.

Today the woman is still pending the payment that the Police owes her for all the years that she did not work due to the unfair dismissal.

And although he has sought the support of the Head of Government, Claudia Sheinbaum, and dialogue with Omar García Harfuch, Chief of Police, it has not been met.
