When crossing a giant green pipe, as well as for more than 40 years has made Mario Bros.you find yourself in another world, one full of carnivorous plants, turtles and princess castles Peach and the evil Bowser.
The Mushroom Kingdom already exists in America, specifically in Hollywood, USA, ready to receive fans and curious of the characters of the video game franchise created by Shigeru Miyamoto.
‘Super Nintendo World’ is the name of the immersive and interactive theme world that from this Friday is part of the park’s attractions Universal Studios Hollywood and to which media such as El Universal and EFE had access to learn about it before its official inauguration.
The place is made so that you feel like you are in the game by collecting coins (through a digital bracelet), fighting Mario’s enemies or beating them in a car race. Also, video game characters like Mario, Luigi and Peach they come out at different times to be with the public and take pictures.
One of the best experiences is the route to get to the Mario Kart game, since you must cross different scenarios such as Yoshi’s world and the great castle of Bowser to, at the end, receive a Mario cap and some interactive glasses, board a cart and live a race in pure Mario style.
After the tour and to rest a bit, the option is the Toadstool cafe, where both the facilities and the food have the theme of the video game with their characters.
REALITY
After years of work, it was finally able to be presented to the public with the presence of Shigeru Miyamoto, representative director and member of Nintendo Co., Ltd; Jeff Shell, CEO of NBCUniversal; Mark Woodbury, President and CEO of Universal Parks & Resorts, Tom Mehrman, president and COO of Pacific Rim, Universal Parks & Resorts; and Scott Strobl, executive vice president and general manager of Universal Studios Hollywood.
Abbye Finnan, Show Producer, Universal Creative (show producer) detailed the work that went into building the theme area: “I worked very closely with the designers, with Nintendo. It was challenging, we wanted it to be an experience for people who are fans and for those who are not,” she shared with the international press.
“The importance of Mario Bros is the cultural impact, it is a legacy, people started playing it when they were kids 40 years ago and now their children are here. It’s fun for the whole family.”
Prior to its opening, this Wednesday the 15th a red carpet was held at night with the presence of actors like Chris Pratt, Brie Larson, Jaime Camil, and musicians like Marco Antonio Solís. Everyone saw the count that Miyamoto made to turn on the lights in the park.

The project was developed in almost ten years by the creator Mario Bros., Shigeru Miyamoto.
“Absolutely everything that is here went through Miyamoto’s approval, he is an extremely creative and kind person,” Corfino told EFE yrhighlighted that the designer of video games constantly visited the park to perfect each one of the details.
Although the opening of the thematic section of Nintendo coincides with the year of release of the film ‘Super Mario Bros. Movie’, the inspiration of the park is independent of the story that the film tells.
