Christmas is also synonymous with watching movies with the family and there are always classics that are worth repeating every December 25th. But while some choose to use streaming platforms, others still pirate tapes like My poor angel.

According to a report published on the website of tech spotCompiling BitTorrent data over the past weekend, TorrentFreak compiled a list of the most pirated classic Christmas movies, and a clear winner emerged: My Poor Little Angel, starring Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern.

The first installment in which we met the brave little Kevin McCallister topped the list followed by its sequel, My poor little angel 2: Lost in New YorkSecondly. The Grinch, El Duende and How the Grinch Stole Christmas they rounded out the top five, in that order.

The legacy of my poor little angel

My Poor Little Angel hit theaters in November 1990 and Culkin starred as lead Kevin McCallister, a boy who defends his home from burglars after accidentally staying behind when his family vacations in Paris for Christmas.

The film was a box office success. raising 476.7 million dollars and, at the same time, launched Culkin’s acting career. It remained the highest-grossing live-action comedy until it was surpassed by The Hangover Part II in 2011.

Since then, My Poor Little Angel has become a Christmas tradition for millions, as evidenced by the fact that it tops torrent freak’s list. Interestingly, in 2021, the real-life house where the movie was filmed was made available for an overnight stay on Airbnb.

Several sequels followed, but Macaulay Culkin was only in the first two installments. Most fans consider anything outside of the first two movies to be a flop simply trying to capitalize on the franchise name.

My Poor Angel and My Poor Angel 2: Lost in New York are available on Disney+ and the first installment can be purchased on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes and YouTube.
