Seville, May 6. Nacho Fernández acknowledged after Real Madrid’s conquest of the Copa del Rey, his twenty-third title as a Real Madrid player, that he still has not decided his future although he is in talks with the board before making a final decision to renew or leave.

“There are 23 titles already, it’s incredible,” he acknowledged. “I’m still talking to the club, to be honest I still don’t know what I’ll do. I’ll decide when everything happens,” he added, now focused on the European duel against Manchester City in the Champions League semifinals.

“We want to give the value that the Copa del Rey has. It is very important, it has been very special because of how the matches have taken place and now we have two finals left to reach another, the Champions League,” he said in Cope.

The Real Madrid defender calmed down Vinícius Junior at a time when he got into arguments with rivals and was booked by the referee. “The game was getting hotter than normal and we tried to calm our players down.”

With no time for celebrations, Nacho did not want to pay attention to favoritism ahead of the duel with City. “We spend the night here to rest as much as possible and on Tuesday we have a very important game. It’s a very even tie, we don’t care about favoritism. Last year we weren’t and we managed to win it. We have to play very good games to get through”. EFE
