The Finnish women’s national football team enters the group in the Nations League as favourites. The team has already this year won over the opponents they face in the group.
The draw for the women’s Nations League is now complete. For the women’s national team, the second group in the B league was not an impossible task as the other countries in the group are Romania, Slovakia and Croatia.
The Finnish ladies have already emerged victorious from international matches against these nations this year.
The women’s national team is ranked highest in the world ranking in the group in 29th place.
– Overall, it’s an okay draw. Our job is to win no matter who we face. We have faced these teams already this year and in a way it would have been good to play against different countries. But this was a reasonably good exit from the draw, says national team coach Marko Saloranta when he assesses the result of the draw.
The winners of the B groups will automatically qualify for the A division and that would provide a good starting position for the qualification for the 2025 European Championship finals to be played in Switzerland.
The Nations League matches will be played between September 2023 and February 2024.
