“We will meet (Friday) in Ramstein (Germany) in the contact group for Ukraine led by the United States and the main message will be increased support with heavier and more modern weapons”he told the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Discussions will focus on the supply of heavy armor and modern air defense systems. The United Kingdom has already pledged 14 Challenger 2 heavy tanks and Poland says it is ready to send 14 German-made Leopard 2 tanks, if Berlin authorizes their re-export to Ukraine.
Two days before the meeting at the American military base in Ramstein, pressure is mounting for German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to authorize the dispatch of Leopard 2, to be used in several armies of NATO member countries. He intervened in Davos, but made no announcement about it.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on Wednesday to “speed in decision-making” for assistance to Ukraine in a videoconference intervention.
