In the midst of the writers’ strike, the actors of the series nevertheless met for a reading of the script.
While the team of Cobra Kai announced in early May that it was joining the Hollywood writers’ strike and that production was on hold, Netflix shared a behind-the-scenes video from pre-production at the TUDUM event. We see the actors of the series having fun reading the first pages of the script, and we hear William Zabka declare that “the trip has been long and amazing, but it’s not over yet“and that this last season will be the most”massive, badass and impressive of all.”
The main actors are present: Courtney Henggeler, Mary Mouser, Tanner Buchanan, Dallas Dupree Young, Gianni DeCenzo, Peyton List, Jacob Bertrand, Vanessa Rubio, Ralph Macchio, William Zabka and the star of the next DC movie Blue Beetle, Xolo Maridueña. The video only serves to give us a glimpse of their enthusiasm, since the cameras aren’t rolling yet. Created by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, the series Cobra Kai is derived from the universe of Karate Kid over 30 years after the release of the original film.
