Superman: Legacy | James Gunn clarifies details about the cast

Through Threads, the director James Gunn was asked if the recent additions to the cast of Superman: Legacy auditioned during the Hollywood actors’ strike.

The filmmaker said that they were cast and signed a contract before the actors’ strike even began.

“Of course not. This would never happen to any of the parties involved (not actors, not agents, not studios). Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio and Mara Gabriela de Fara were all actually cast, contracts signed, BEFORE the strike happened. And they were soldiers about keeping the secret, which I’m sure was difficult.”

Filming for the blockbuster is scheduled to begin during the first quarter of 2024, and will be shot in different parts of the world.

Superman: Legacy will make the DCU’s big debut in theaters, and will be followed by other titles already ordered for the big screen, such as Batman: The Brave and the Bold e Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
