Ninja Assassin tells the story of Raizo, a young orphaned ninja who was trained to kill by the Ozunu clan. After the execution of his only friend, Raizo is suddenly prey to doubt, and then leaves the clan in order to prepare his revenge… Years later, in Berlin, Raizo comes across Europol agent Mika Coretti who , after lifting the veil on a political affair involving a mysterious Asian organization, became the target of the Ozunu clan. The script of Ninja Assassin was completely revised just before filming
The action film is produced by Lily and Lana Wachowski, the directors of Matrix, particularly inspired by Japanese culture. They had initially entrusted the script of the film to Matthew Sand, but unsatisfied with his work, they ultimately hired J. Michael Straczynski to rewrite the script. Six weeks before the start of filming, the latter had to review the script for Ninja Assassin. A perilous and risky mission. The screenwriter succeeded the feat of doing everything again in the space of 53 hours.
