A few months after its deployment, the Netflix formula with advertisements is entitled to two big improvements. Subscribers will be able to enjoy 1080p on two screens simultaneously. You will have to wait until the end of April to take advantage of it.
Since November, a new subscription formula has been offered by the N rouge. Netflix Essential with advertisements allows you to take advantage of the catalog at a lower cost, by viewing advertisements before and during the program. Offered at only €5.99/month, this formula is obviously synonymous with concessions. Besides advertisements, some content is not accessible and you cannot download programs.
What’s more, subscribers were previously only entitled to 720p quality on a single screen. But Netflix has decided to push the limits of subscription. In its letter to investors for the first quarter of 2023, the platform announced that Essential subscribers with ads will soon be able to benefit from 1080p.
And that’s not all. They will also be able to browse the catalog on two screens simultaneously. On the other hand, the Essential formula at €8.99/month will always have to make do with 720p from another age.

When will these improvements be rolled out? Canadian and Spanish subscribers are already entitled to new features. These will arrive later this month in the 12 markets (including France) where Netflix offers an offer with advertisements. However, the exact date has not yet been revealed.
Netflix is “satisfied” the progress of subscription with advertisements since its launch in November. The service reveals that its average total revenue per subscription in the United States for this offer surpasses that of the standard plan. It should be remembered that Netflix did not hesitate to push users to opt for the formula with advertisements by highlighting it on its site.
In France, Netflix’s offer with advertising was enthusiastically received. At the beginning of the year, 1.4 million French people had subscribed through this channel.
