After a four-year absence, dystopian anthology series Black Mirror is set to return to Netflix, as a tantalizing video teaser reveals. A season 6 of madness approaching?
Without telling anyone, Netflix released a small trailer for the sequel to Black Mirror. A series that has made an impression despite episodes or seasons that are not always glorious.
A first trailer for Black Mirror season 6 on Netflix
After one saison 5 judged “very disappointing due to a lack of originality” by our colleagues from CinéSéries, Black Mirror will come back strong. There saison 6which was confirmed in 2022, will be available next june on Netflix. “It was time to come back. Black Mirror season 6, in June » specifies the platform at the red N. A message that will delight fans of Charlie Brooker’s TV show, but that does not replace a trailer.
To raise the hype, Netflix has therefore released the first teaser for this season 6. These new episodes, which will be more numerous than in season 5, seem to take up the recipe that propelled the series with dystopian stories. Once again, Black Mirror will also speak for its high-flying cast. After Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out) ou Jerome Flynn (Game of Thrones), place à Salma Hayek (one night in hell), Aaron Paul (Westworld), Kate Mara (House of Cards) and Paapa Essiedu (Men), among others.
Without expanding on the subjects that will be treated, even if episodes seem to be interested in space or the Internet, Netflix ensures that this will be the season “by far the most unpredictable, unexpected and unclassifiable”. In an interview, the creator of Black Mirror said:
This time, in addition to the usual Black Mirror codes, we also have a few new elements, which I swore I would never bring to the show, to push the boundaries of what a Black Mirror episode is. The stories still fit Black Mirror standards, end to end, but with a few twists and more variety than ever before..

A major series of recent years

We don’t know if Charlie Brooker will still shock with the saison 6, but he wants to continue to surprise. For him, the Netflix broadcast series must constantly renew itself. « I’ve always felt that Black Mirror should tell different stories from each other, and keep surprising people. Including myself, otherwise, what’s the point? It must be a series that cannot be easily defined, and that can be renewed endlessly » added Brooker for the Tudum site.
